Welcome to Just Like Home Childcare & Preschool and Thank-you for your interest! We've been Licensed in the State of Washington since 1999.

As a parent myself, I understand it can be a difficult time choosing a childcare that we are comfortable with and I understand that completely. I would like to take a moment to let you know that I realize that childcare , just like any other business is a choice, and it is extremely important that you and your child feels respected and cared for at Just Like Home and at the same time understands that there are rules for the safety and well being of all the children that I provide care for.

We have tried to keep our rates very reasonable. We are proud to offer your family high quality care with an extensive amount of one on one that your child just can't receive in a large center. At Just Like Home, your child is able to build a relationship with myself as well as our Assistants. We don't have a lot of staff turnover here, so your child knows who will be caring for them day after day. This helps children be more secure in their environment. We are also the only childcare in White Salmon to offer evening and night time care as well.

When you place your child here, you have entered into an agreement with me for the benefit of your child. Our primary goal is to support each child in a safe and loving home that builds self esteem, encourages home living skills, and actively promotes each child's sense of curiosity and discovery.

We believe that children learn through play in a structured environment. We provide both teacher initiated activities and also encourage child initiated activities. We have a nice large, clean indoor playroom loaded with learning activities like manipulative's, blocks, arts and crafts, reading area, imaginative play, and so much more. We are blessed to have a gigantic outdoor play area and have begun to focus on a more natural playscape outside. Please see our pictures page for lots of pictures of both inside and out.

I know in the past when my own kids have been in childcare, the one that you choose truly makes all the difference in the world! It truly does make it much easier on everyone involved if you as a parent can go to work and not worry all day long about your child! Our Philosophy

As research has proven, children do their most important learning from birth to the age of five. Just Like Home Childcare, Inc. believes that as Early Childhood Educators, it is our job to provide children with an age appropriate environment that encourages them to learn, play and explore.

We believe that every child needs hands-on experiences, warmth, attention, enthusiasm, and encouragement. Most of all, they need the joy and challenge of doing things for themselves.

Meeting the Needs of Parents and Our Community

State Subsidies

We accept Washington and Oregon State subsidies and offer flexible schedules (full time, part-time, and drop-ins welcome) for working parents. We are also the only licensed family childcare in The Gorge to offer evening and night time care. To apply on line for childcare subsidies in Washington, visit the DSHS website.

Military Subsidies

The US Department of Defense has partnered with state and local agencies to refer military families to nationally accredited civilian child care programs. Just Like Home Childcare & Preschool, Inc is recognized as an eligible care provider. To find out more about this, visit the National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies here.

Tax Exemptions

When you choose licensed childcare, we provide parents with IRS form W-10 for the total amount you paid for childcare services. You may be eligible for childcare reimbursement costs on your yearly tax return.

Year Round / 24 Hour Care

We are pleased to be the only childcare in White Salmon to be open 24 hours daily to meet the needs of parents and their employers in our community.

Employer Childcare Contributions

Some Employers offer flexible programs that allow you to set aside funding for childcare costs. Ask your employer if this is available for you.

We're going on some great field trips to the Park, Swimming, Library, Bug Place, Fish Hatchery, Lavendar Farm, Goat Farm, and much more!

We've started creating some new outdoor spaces in our yard and our garden is growing!
