State Subsidies
We accept Washington and Oregon State subsidies and offer flexible schedules (full time, part-time, and drop-ins welcome) for working parents. We are also the only licensed family childcare in The Gorge to offer evening and night time care. To apply on line for childcare subsidies in Washington, visit the DSHS
Military Subsidies
The US Department of Defense has partnered with state and local agencies to refer military families to nationally accredited civilian child care programs. Just Like Home Childcare & Preschool, Inc is recognized as an eligible care provider. To find out more about this, visit the National Association of Childcare Resource and Referral Agencies. Please ask me for my NACCRRA provider number when you apply.
Tax Exemptions
When you choose licensed childcare, we provide parents with IRS form W-10 for the total amount you paid for childcare services. You may be eligible for childcare reimbursement costs on your yearly tax return.
Year Round 24 Hour Care
We are pleased to be the only licensed childcare in White Salmon to offer 24 hour care, year round to meet the needs or parents and their employers in our community. Need to go shopping? Would you like some free time for a parent's night out? Just ask us.
Employer Childcare Contributions
Some employers offer flexible programs that allow you to set aside funding for childcare costs. Ask your employer if this is available for you.
Affordable Rates & Flexible Hours
At Just Like Home, we believe in offering families high quality childcare at affordable rates. It makes no sense to work just to have the majority of your paycheck go to pay for your daycare services. We also believe in flexibility and in most cases are able to work with scheduling changes, late pick-ups and so on.
Convenient On Line Payment Option
Would you like to make your payments for childcare services online? We're proud to offer that option for payments as well. Payments are due on the 15th and the last day of each month. This payment option takes three days for the payment to post to my account; parents using this service would need to make their payments on the 10th and 25th of each month. Parental Communication
Just Like Home is on Facebook. This is a great way to keep updated on your child's daily activities. We try to post pictures and updates often on our daily activities . Join us!
Free Morning Coffee
Grab a hot cup of coffee when you drop off your little one for daycare in the morning. To go cups are offered, or bring your own travel mug with you.
Movie Loan
We're happy to loan out any of our 183 VHS and DVD child related movies. Loads of Disney, lots of different subjects from Dinosaurs to Fire Safety. Just ask us!
Transportation From Other Schools
We have a school bus stop on location for Whitson Elementary, Henkle Middle School. Buses drop off and pick up for the White Salmon Preschool and Headstart.
Sliding Fee Scale
Just Like Home is happy to be able to offer two childcare spots at a sliding scale rate. Please inquire for more information about this special offer.
Free Vegetables, Berries and Farm Eggs
During the Summer months, the kids and I grow Vegetables in our raised garden beds. We love to share what we've planted with their families. Parents are welcome to lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, onions, gourds, carrots, etc.
We also have four chickens (Lulu, Sally, Waffles, Betsy) and are happy to send our parents home with farm fresh brown eggs.
Love berry's? During July and August, parents are welcome to pick delicious blackberry's on our property. We're surrounded by them and love to share! The kids love picking them and they make scrumptious pies, cobblers, jam.
Parent Address / Phone List
We're happy to hand out parent phone numbers, address', and email address (with their permission). This will enable all of you to have contact with other families in our daycare. Whether you want to invite children to birthday parties or get together for play dates outside of childcare; this is a great way to build relationships with the other families that I provide childcare for.
Holiday Celebrations
At Just Like Home, we celebrate Holidays. For example, each Christmas we have a little party near the Winter school break and each child goes home with a little gift that Santa left at Kathy's house. On Halloween, we have all the kids come with their costumes (the date for this depends on Halloween), the kids make spooky crafts to take home. We also have an "End of School Year" party to celebrate Summer starting. We acknowledge each child's birthday with cards we all make together, and a special treat for snacktime.
