Just Like Home Childcare & Preschool, Inc. offers a great preschool program from September through June of each year. We incorporate some of the Montessori method and we use the "Mother Goose Time" Curriculum. Parents, read more about our program here. We learn a variety of things such as the Alphabet, Numbers, Shapes, and Colors just to name a few. We focus on three themes monthly and build on the program each month with a variety of materials. Our program is developed with the individual child in mind. With the use of stories, music, imaginative play, social games, outdoor time, arts and crafts, children have a variety of skills that will help prepare them for school.
The charge for this for children that attend childcare during the week is an additional $30.00 per month. We believe we can implement all the learning that preschool will entail for an affordable price for families. If our capacity allows, children may come just for preschool. That rate is $150.00 per month.
Monthly themes, weekly topics, enrichment activity sheets and daily activities keep the curriculum full of fun with lots of focus. Our preschool teacher has obtained her CDA (Child Development Associate).
We are firm believers that children learn by doing! Research has shown that children do their most important learning from birth to age five. They love hand's on materials that offer them a variety of ideas to build on math, science, literacy and social skills. Children get the opportunity to make numerous choices during our preschool times. They love to create, and will be very proud of the different crafts and activities they get to take home with them.
We help address each child socially, physically, emotionally, and cognitively! Our curriculum stimulates thinking, reasoning, problem solving, and decision making.

Our program ensures that each child participates in daily activities that enhance the following developmental domains:
SOCIAL SKILLS: Just Like Home Preschool provides children with the environment to build self-esteem, self-control, and self-awareness. Throughout their day they are given many opportunities to meet with success.
EMOTIONAL SUPPORT: Our caregivers truly love children! Each child is provided with the affection and support from warm and caring adults.
CREATIVE AND ARTISTIC EXPERIENCE: Creative expression is achieved through art, music, and dance.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: Just Like Home Preschool ensures that children are encouraged to move indoors and outdoors. Daily program plans also engage children in periods of active and quiet play.
MENTAL ABILITIES: Children need concrete experiences. Activities and materials are selected to encourage “learning by doing.” With interactions that develop problem-solving skills.
HEALTH EDUCATION: As children learn about themselves, we encourage them to assume responsibility for hand washing, toileting, and playground safety.
Our Goals
1. Develop confidence in themselves and an enthusiasm for school in a loving and caring atmosphere.
2. Create a hands-on learning environment through art, stories, music.
3. To feel comfortable to try new things and know that making mistakes is part of learning.
4. To develop social skills- good manners, cooperation, friendship, how to share, negotiate, and take
responsibility for their actions and choices.
5. To express feelings, including anger and frustration, through words rather than actions.
6. To make independent choices and attempt to solve their own problems.
7. To pay attention, follow directions & ask questions if they don't understand.
8. To provide lots of opportunities to read books, link words and letters.
9. Physical development of large and small muscles.
10. To enter Kindergarten confident, ready to learn, and well prepared for the Kindergarten experience.
Our Preschool program is on Mon, Wed, and Fri from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (lunch included). If your child comes only for preschool, the cost is $150.00 per month. If your child is also enrolled in Just Like Home Childcare, the cost for preschool is an additional $30.00 per month.
